Ingredients
- 800 g Potatoes (large)
- 60 g Corn starch
- 20 g All-purpose flour
- 30 ml Milk
- 10 g Chicken bouillon powder
- 8 g Garlic powder
- 2 g Red chili flakes
- 2 g Black pepper
- 4 g Fresh parsley
- 5 g Salt
Preparation
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks. Boil them in salted water for 12–15 minutes until fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes well and let them cool slightly so excess moisture evaporates.
- Mash the potatoes until very smooth with no lumps.
- Add seasonings (salt, chicken bouillon powder, red chili flakes, garlic powder, black pepper, parsley) and mix well.
- Add the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough is sticky, add more cornstarch (1 tbsp at a time). If too dry, add 1–2 tbsp milk or water.
- Take a small portion of dough, roll it into a ball, flatten it into a disc, and use a nozzle or chopstick to make a hole in the center to form a ring. Smooth the edges.
- Place the shaped rings on a tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F). Fry the rings in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil. Serve hot with ketchup.
