Recipe import in Fitaily
Add a recipe from a link, a photo, a description or manually. Each method has different requirements — below we separate what runs locally from what needs cloud AI.
Ways to add a recipe
METHODS
- Import from a link (including Instagram and TikTok)
- Generate a recipe from a text description
- Analyse a recipe photo
- Create a recipe manually
Link and photo import use cloud AI. Generation from text can run locally on a compatible iPhone.
Import a recipe from a link
CLOUD
Paste a recipe link, including from supported social services. Fitaily processes the content and prepares a recipe draft: ingredients, steps and basic data.
This is a cloud feature — it needs an internet connection and, in the iOS app, Premium. The scope depends on content availability at the source.
Generate a recipe from a description
ON-DEVICE
Describe a dish and Fitaily proposes a recipe — ingredients with amounts, steps, time and servings. This text analysis can run locally on a compatible iPhone without sending the content to the cloud.
The result opens in a form where you can correct it before saving.
Recipe photos and link import remain cloud features — they are not run locally.
Availability and Premium
PREMIUM
Link import and photo analysis use cloud AI and require Premium in the iOS app. Generation from a text description and manual creation do not require Premium.
Recipe, diary and shopping list
An imported recipe can be used in the diary — its nutrition and ingredients help plan a meal. Ingredients can also be moved to the shopping list.
